Rossi 'motivated after Ducati'

Motogp News

The Doctor is pleased to be back

Seven time MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi says he is already happier on the new Yamaha than he was at any time during his two seasons at Ducati.

At the end of yesterday's test in Sepang, he told reporters:

'I am more motivated now and more young after two years on the Ducati'

'It is a big relief. After two seasons like that, immediately I can say this is a big difference.

'First impressions are always important and after 10 laps, I can say that this is a good first impression.'

Rossi finished fourth on the leaderboard at the end of yesterday's first day of testing in Malaysia, behind last year's runner up Dani Pedrosa, reigning champion (and Yamaha team mate) Jorge Lorenzo and hotshot rookie Marc Marquez.

T

he Doctor had a few words to say on Marquez, who looks as though he could seriously upset the apple cart after an impressive performance on his official test debut yesterday. He said:

'I expect - and said three or four months ago - that Marquez can fight for victory from the start of the season,"

'But I like his attitude a lot because in his mind, looking at him today, it looks like he wants to win the championship at the first try. This is good.'
