Poncharal: "With the pressure and tension, I'm not at all certain that Rossi will leave Ducati."
AFTER Valentino Rossi's struggles at Qatar rumours began circulating that the Italian was looking to leave Ducati to form his own satellite squad or join one of the existing Honda or Yamaha teams.
However Hervé Poncharal, team boss for the Yamaha Tech 3 outfit, believes that Rossi will stay with the factory Ducati team and he will find his competitive form once more.
Speaking to GP-Inside.com, Poncharal said: "Everyone is a little worried about our friends at Ducati and their star rider, Valentino Rossi."
Hervé continued that whilst Rossi's contract with Ducati is up at the end of the season, he finds it difficult to envisage the Italian returning to the two manufacturers he previously raced for, either Honda or Yamaha, adding:
"So if he wants to find a Yamaha or a private Honda, there are only three options: Gresini, LCR or Tech3.
"But even with the pressure and tension, I'm not at all certain that he will leave Ducati. The future will tell but I'm sure he will bounce back and that in a few races, he will do much better than at Qatar."
Despite suffering with the Desmosedici GP12, Valentino Rossi has said that he will stay with the Italian manufacturer and do everything to make the relationship work.
